specialist distributor stock a range of Rockwool, Kingspan and Isover branded pipe and duct slab insulation products designed for HVAC systems, in order to better serve local building contractors across Greater and Central London. To further support the launch and provide customers with the best sales experience, all CCF staff have been provided with tailored HVAC product training, which has been underpinned by expertise from CCF’s supplier partners. Additionally, while CCF Harmondsworth is the first location to benefit the new HVAC range, other sites will be reviewed in the future. Craig Newman, National Sales Director, commented: “Launching CCF into
the HVAC market has never been done up until now. Following an indepth review however, the demand from contractors was overwhelmingly in favour of broadening our offering. As a result, we are proud to now have a HVAC range, together with a dedicated service proposition, that complements CCF’s breadth of insulation and interior building products that we are well known for. It is an exciting time for CCF and this is just one way our teams are working to diversify product ranges and availability to benefit our trade customers.” Hamza Afzal, Sales Coordinator at CCF Harmondsworth, comments: “We
look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to the branch and being able to support with HVAC projects. All the dedicated team have benefitted from HVAC product training and can advise on a number of different technical queries, availability and delivery timescales to suit.”

nightsbridge, one of the UK’s leading brands of lighting and wiring accessories, is introducing a range of
selftest emergency lighting products that offers convenience, compliance, cost savings and ease of fault identification. The comprehensive, LEDpowered range, which is ideal for retail, commercial, industrial and HMO applications, comprises of a robust bulkhead unit, a contemporary downlight, high lumen twin spotlights, and a versatile exit sign.
The selftest feature is built into each
product and conducts routine functional and duration testing in accordance with the relevant standards, obviating the need for costly manual testing and intervention other than to record and rectify faults. With no requirement to isolate the mains supply to test, there is no disruption to the normal working day and no loss of productivity. After installation and an initial 24hour
charging period, the product conducts its own selftest operation. This comprises of a 3hour duration test, after which a 30second ‘monthly’ function test is carried out every 28 days, and then yearly another 3hour duration test. Following each selftest sequence, the unit will revert into charging mode.
Semtech and Amazon Collaborate to Provide Low Power Connectivity for Consumer Applications on Amazon Sidewalk
• Semtech’s LoRa® devices provide long range, lowbandwidth connectivity for Amazon Sidewalk
• LoRa devices key features – long range, low power – makes it an ideal solution for low bandwidth outdoor and indoor smart home and smart community products Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC), a
leading supplier of high performance analog and mixedsignal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, announced it has teamed up with Amazon to collaborate on its network, Amazon Sidewalk. Operated at no charge to customers, Amazon Sidewalk is a crowdsourced wireless network that can simplify device setup, extend the range for low bandwidth applications and provide limited functionality even when devices fall offline. Semtech’s long range, low power LoRa platform in the Amazon Sidewalk network extends the range of a customer’s home network to connect both outdoor and indoor, lowbandwidth smart home products, including smart lights, pet trackers, sensors for asset tracking, smart irrigation, and a multitude of additional low cost devices needed for residential use. With extended range, mobility and low power consumption,
the LoRa platform enables the rapid deployment of a vast range of secure, low touch consumer Internet of Things (IoT) applications. “Semtech’s LoRa is a proven IoT
solution that supports a long range, low power wide area network (LPWAN) platform and meets Amazon Sidewalk’s goal of providing the network support needed to connect a broad range of low power home devices or sensors. The collaboration with Amazon solidifies that LoRa is the de facto platform for IoT LPWAN applications and expands LoRa to new consumer applications,” said Mohan Maheswaran, Semtech's President and CEO. According to IHS Markit, the global smart
home market is expected to grow by a factor of five to reach more than $192 billion in 2023, a rapid increase from the $41 billion in revenues in 2018. Several current networks for smart devices in the home, including Bluetooth and WiFi, are limited in connectivity and range. Cellular (e.g. 5G) is needed for mission critical, long distance, guaranteed delivery of data, but can be too costly and power hungry for battery operated devices. With LoRa and Amazon Sidewalk,
tools for ensuring social distance and laboursaving autonomous robots are becoming more common in everyday life. Today, distance sensors are

nVent launches new allinone solution for roof drain deicing A
leading provider of electrical connection and protection solutions, nVent Electric plc (NYSE: NVT), is pleased to announce the launch of
the nVent RAYCHEM RIM DrainTrace Kit; a pioneering, allinone solution to keep flat roof drains free from ice and snow. With a unique star shaped design, the new kit is a highly effective, easytoinstall solution specifically developed to protect roofs from winter water damage and prevent the buildup of harmful ice dams. “At nVent we’re always looking for innovative
solutions to make winterisation protection as simple as possible for businesses,” comments Knut Bittner, nVent Product Manager. “Our new nVent RAYCHEM RIM DrainTrace kit is the latest product designed with this principle in mind, offering contractors, independent engineers and wholesalers an allinone drain deicing product they can have confidence in to recommend to their customers.”
Allinone flexibility When harsh winter weather strikes, flat roofs quickly become covered in a thick layer of snow. As temperatures fluctuate during the day, this surface snow can thaw, flow to weak points such as joints and refreeze, causing holes in the roof covering to expand. This can make the roof susceptible to damage, and even collapse, due to water penetration. It is vital that roof drains be kept clear
