ABB AT THE I&E AWARDS: SPOTLIGHT ON DIGITAL INNOVATION

BB’s work in the field of digital innovation is being recognised in this year’s Instrumentation & Electronics Awards. ABB is in the running with several nominations including for the Digital Transformation Award,

Best Customer Service Award for the integration of Service and Digital, and Industry Personality of the Year Award for David Lincoln for his work on Generative AI in industrial operations. ABB earned its nomination for the Digital Transformation Award for introducing the first AI-powered solution designed to support maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial measurement devices – My Measurement Assistant+. My Measurement Assistant+ is a single access point for information retrieval, diagnostics and remote support. For example, maintenance managers using the platform can quickly assess device health, access manuals, error codes and

spare part information, ensuring that operations continue without interruption.

With close to 30 years at ABB, David Lincoln, Global Digital Lead at ABB’s Measurement & Analytics division, sees his nomination for Industry Personality of the Year as a recognition of ABB’s leadership in the digital field. He has been at the forefront of using Gen AI to revolutionise how plant operators manage and utilise operational data. “ABB has paved the way for the integration of AI in everyday operations, allowing for faster problem- solving and more effective resource management,” said David Lincoln. “From automating repetitive tasks to enabling smart decision-making, AI is not just a tool - it’s becoming a partner to this and the next generation workforce. Thanks to AI, engineers are now able to focus more on problem-solving and high-value tasks, rather than getting bogged down by routine operations.”

ABB is also in the running for the Best Customer Service Award for integrating Service and

Digital to redefine customer experience. ABB understands that operational excellence isn’t just built on innovative technology, but on the people and processes that keep that technology performing at its best. That’s why ABB has redefined service by integrating its technical expertise with digital innovation, creating a customer-centric approach that delivers proactive, responsive, and tailored support throughout the lifecycle of ABB’s solutions.
