Calibration
Q 18
ED Environmental Systems proudly announces the launch of the GEM PRO, the first landfill gas analyzer built on the groundbreaking PRO Series modular platform.
Designed to increase uptime, simplify calibration, and adapt to changing site demands, the GEM PRO helps landfill operators and environmental teams work smarter, faster, and more efficiently. With an enhanced long-life battery, intuitive touchscreen interface, and fully modular, user- replaceable sensor components, the GEM PRO gives field technicians more control and less downtime – delivering reliable performance where it matters most.
“The GEM PRO is more than an upgrade – it’s a rethinking of how landfill gas monitoring should work,” says James Jones, product manager – Gas Analysis & Detection at QED Environmental Systems. “With the PRO Series platform, we’re giving our customers a tool that’s always in their hands and flexes with their changing requirements.” When it comes to field instrument calibration, the GEM PRO changes the game. The modular platform is equipped with user-replaceable gas cells and

pressure sensors, with each sensor module having its own calibration certificate. Any given sensor can be replaced in under 10 minutes, eliminating the need to ship the instrument back for calibration or service, greatly reducing costly downtime and keeping field operations running smoothly.
Need to monitor a new gas? No problem. The GEM PRO lets users add or switch sensor modules quickly and affordably. With next-day module shipping and field-ready design, operators can reconfigure their analyzer without sending it off-site – cutting upgrade costs by up to 70 per cent and keeping projects on track.
Featuring an upgraded battery, the GEM PRO delivers up to 10 hours of continuous operation – more than enough for a full day in the field. For longer shifts, the rechargeable battery can be swapped out on-site for uninterrupted performance. A high-visibility five-inch HD touchscreen paired with physical navigation buttons gives users fast access to data, even in harsh sunlight or gloved conditions. Whether optimising gas extraction for energy production or running compliance checks, the interface is designed for speed, clarity, and reliability. The GEM PRO is fully compatible with QED’s GAMSoft software, allowing users to manage data, generate reports, and adjust
settings with ease. The included Affinity wireless communications module supports legacy accessories including temperature sensors, relative humidity sensors and anemometers, reducing the need for multiple devices and streamlining workflows in the field.
“With the new modular design of the GEM PRO analyzer, sending your instrument out for calibration is a thing of the past,” said Jones. “The GEM PRO is about giving our customers more control, greater flexibility, and maximum uptime.”
