Helen Thompson British Franchise Association
The British Franchise Association (bfa) has appointed Helen Thompson
QFP as its second business development manager, working alongside Emily Embra to help drive member engagement and recruitment.
A former consultant with franchisee
recruitment company Kyros, Helen has since held positions as interim manager for Dunkin’ Brands and as franchise development manager for two bfa member franchisors. She completed her QFP in 2013, a year in which she was also awarded ‘Woman Service Provider of the Year’ by EWIF for her success in recruiting the right franchisees.
Helen said: “I’ve always been passionate about good franchisors having a strong platform for their businesses and have been engaged with the bfa since I started in the sector, so I’m thrilled to now be working with the team. Franchising has an incredible and supportive community that all ethical operators should be proud to be associated with.
“I’m looking forward to working with existing and new members of the Association and feel I have the right experience to help them grow and strengthen their networks.” Pip Wilkins, the bfa’s head of operations, commented: “We couldn’t have asked for anyone better suited to the position. Helen’s experience of franchising from both a recruitment and growth perspective will bring signifi cant added value to our members.”
Julie Proudlock Revive!
Julie Proudlock has been appointed national sales manager at Revive!
The appointment comes
as the company is experiencing unprecedented growth; demand for the company’s vehicle bodywork and alloy wheel paint repair service is at an all-time high, mirroring the current volume of new and second-hand car sales. Julie has spent her career in sales and was latterly sales manager for Polyformes Ltd, Europe’s largest foam fabrication company. She will be based at the Revive! head offi ce in Rugby but will spend the majority of her time on the road visiting fl eet, dealership and insurance industry clients. “I am relishing the challenge that my new
role at Revive! will bring,“ said Julie. “My experience gained through selling top-quality products and services within other competitive marketplaces will be put to good use and I look forward to being part of the team taking Revive! to the next level.”
Commenting on the appointment Revive! managing director Mark Llewellyn said: “We are delighted that a candidate of Julie’s calibre has decided to join Revive!. Winning new business and developing relationships with existing customers is a key component of our growth strategy. Julie has an impressive track record and her skill set fi ts perfectly within our existing team. “
Seriously FUN Swimming Schools has announced
Simon Mills is joining the company in the newly created role of franchise director. Simon will be responsible for franchise development, working alongside the expanding franchise network in the UK and Ireland, as well as general management responsibilities. He joins the Seriously FUN team from American franchise powerhouse The Dwyer Group, well known in the UK with brands including Drain Doctor, Molly Maids and Rainbow International. It was there that Simon served as franchise developer during his successful tenure working on the business development team specifi cally targeting new and existing trade businesses.
Simon attained QFP status in 2011. Simon said: “I am thrilled to be part of the Seriously FUN team and I look forward helping grow our unique culture and values nationally.” Jonathon Madden, Seriously FUN’s managing director, commented: “We are very excited to welcome Simon to our team. Not only will he bring a tighter focus to our franchise but he will also be an excellent business coach for our team and franchise family.”
