Duncan Berry Bluebird Care


Bluebird Care has


announced the appointment of Duncan Berry to the post of chief operating offi cer. Berry, who brings 12 years’


experience in franchising, has extensive skills in developing businesses through high-level franchise networks across a range of business sectors. In his new role, Berry will be working with senior management and their respective teams at the Petersfi eld-based franchise support centre to realise ambitions in the UK. He will also be working with Bluebird Care’s network of franchisees and continuing to build relationships with contacts within the industry. “Duncan has been instrumental in the


growth of some major UK and European franchised organisations,” said Kathleen Gilmartin, President and CEO of Caring Brands International and Interim HealthCare Inc. “Bluebird Care has already had a


tremendous growth record in the last 10 years and we are delighted to welcome Duncan to the team to take the business to the next level of success.”


Julia Choudhury Franchise Brands


Franchise Brands is pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Choudhury as corporate


development director. Following the recent announcement


from Franchise Brands that it is seeking acquisitions ahead of a potential initial public offering on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, Julia’s newly created role will provide a focus and point of contact for the external growth strategy.


Julia brings with her a depth of experience and expertise from her career which spans over 25 years in fi nance and corporate strategy. She has been a director of Franchise Brands since the Group’s establishment in 2008. Julia said: “I am looking forward to meeting colleagues in the franchising arena to see if the combination of Franchise Brands’ capital and expertise can assist other franchise businesses with their expansion plans. Of particular interest are businesses in the B2C service sector, but the key criterion for an acquisition prospect is a compelling proposition from which franchisees can be successful.”


Brett Edwards Anytime Fitness


As a result of overwhelming success and demand for territories in the UK, Anytime Fitness has appointed Brett


Edwards in a newly created role of general manager. Brett reports directly to the board and will strengthen the leadership team to ensure that the high levels of support and focus franchisees have experienced to date will continue as the group accelerates its growth, with plans to open its 100th club this year. Prior to joining the team, Brett was the managing director of corporate health at the UK’s oldest occupational health and employee wellbeing service provider. Brett said: “We have an amazing pipeline with 46 clubs open, a further 140 territories in the process of opening and a very healthy number of new franchise enquiries coming in. Our franchisees are seeing the benefi ts and healthy ROI of the Anytime model, and many are now opening multiple sites. I’m excited
