W

hen it comes to deciding on your options afer school

or college, the choices for young people seem endless. Should you follow the academic route and progress to higher education and university, combine education and work experience with a degree apprenticeship or go straight into the world of work with an apprenticeship scheme? These are just a few of the options school leavers can pursue, all of them with unique benefits that require information and preparation to progress in. What University? & What Career? Live equips students, parents and teachers with the chance to assess their options by speaking with leading universities, employers and advisers, all under one roof. Taking place in Birmingham and

London, the free events run on both a Friday and Saturday to allow schools and families to support students in finding the right choices for them.

Apprenticeships The UK’s leading employers will be recruiting for a variety of apprenticeships, employment opportunities and degree apprenticeships at the event. Companies exhibiting across 2025 include BBC, JLR, NHS Health Careers, AON, Compass Group and many more. Organisations will be on-site to provide information about all of the programmes they have available and answer questions about the application process, career progression, the experience gained and more about the opportunity to work and earn a wage. Independent advisers are on hand

to offer support and guidance about the different types of apprenticeships available to young people and how the opportunity allows them to join a large organisation and progress quickly within an ever-expanding range of industries.

Universities For students considering higher education after school or college,

universities from across the UK will provide advice on how to apply, student fees, accommodation, employability rates, and student life. Universities at the 2025 events include Durham University, Birmingham City University, Newcastle University, Cardiff University, University of Reading and many more who will be able to discuss their undergraduate opportunities. Visitors also benefit from speaking with career advisors and university experts and listening to talks offering practical advice and industry insights. Over 40 free presentations and workshops take place, with hands- on activities available to visitors including STEM workshops, a CV Clinic and Future Skills Workshop. Students are encouraged to

come to the event prepared with areas they’d like to discover more information on and plan questions they’d like to ask exhibitors. l
