Something to smile about
I
’m seeing plenty of good news emerging from the franchise industry. Of course you might think I would say that, but it’s genuinely uplifting to see
such positivity from those within franchising and to hear stories of businesses triumphant over adversity and celebrating what they’re good at. That’s news anyone should welcome with open arms. When polled this summer* about the state of franchising during the pandemic and ensuing recession, a massive 81 per cent of franchisors said they adapted or increased the support they provided to franchisees. A considerable 71 per cent expressed confidence that their businesses will
bounce back quickly. These are impressive numbers and should do much to reassure you that the franchise model is able to withstand the aftershocks of such extreme global events. The first Business Franchise
Webinar also saw franchise industry professionals broadcasting upbeat messages. The presentation, now available to view on demand at
businessfranchise.com, served to reinforce the message that franchising truly is where you’re ‘in business for yourself but not by yourself’ – as one franchisor participating in the webinar observed, franchise businesses have been able to remain buoyant throughout the past few months purely on the strength
of the franchise network, and the benefits that come with that community. Read more about those encouraging statistics and the webinar series in our news pages from page 6. To find out from those in
the know just how strong franchising as a business model is, join the industry and your fellow budding business owners at The National Franchise Exhibition Virtual, the online event held over 2 and 3 October 2020. To register for tickets to the event where you can talk to brands, tune into presentations and get legal and financial advice from the experts, plus much more, visit
