Franchise Hero
GUITAR AMBITIONS
Andy Turner, head of franchise recruitment and mobilisation at Wiltshire Farm Foods
How did you get involved in franchising? I joined the apetito/Wiltshire Farm Foods team over four years ago and have been head of franchise Recruitment for the past three years. Once I was in the business, I knew that recruiting, training and working closely with new franchise partners would be a good fit.
What has been your career highlight so far? I used to work for a luxury automotive manufacturer. The first time I was handed the keys to one of their cars to take home for the weekend was a definite highlight.
TIM ROBBINS
What was your childhood dream job? Playing guitar in a band! More realistically I always wanted to go into teaching but other opportunities in retail presented themselves and so my career took a different path.
What team do you follow?
Aston Villa 16
BUSINESSFRANCHISE.COM
Who has been the biggest influence on your career? I worked for a regional manager 20 years ago called Dave Webb who had a management style I really related to and through his advice and mentoring I had some fantastic performance and results along the way with good career progression.
How do you relax? I have a one-year-old so little time to relax! Family time and, when I get the chance, I play golf, and my older son and I love a trip to the cinema for a bit of sci-fi.
Tell us a little-known fact about you… I spent time in my early 20s in a cabaret act singing, dancing and doing a little stand up.
What's your drink of choice? Coffee: I am known as a coffee snob. If it is alcohol, then a mojito all the way.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party? Eddie Izzard (laughs), Tiger Woods (sporting greatness), Richie Sambora (guitar) and Jacinda Ardern to keep us all focused and on track.
