• Functionality: the system has to satisfy all the functions required, such as cash register, stock levels and ordering.


In a non-retail situation the franchisor still needs to know what their franchisees are doing on a short timescale basis and for consistency. We recommend a nominated accountant, uniform financial years, and


online access to monthly, quarterly and annual accounts, together with vat returns. This removes the responsibility from the franchisee to make returns and reports, and will be cost effective as the accountant will be able to offer lower fees. In some cases, this cost is covered in the management service fee, and in others as a monthly charge to the franchisee. But, in all cases, it should be seen as a beneficial part of the franchise offering. n
