SPOTLIGHTINTERVIEW
expand into the UK, and then internationally in Turkey and Morocco. Domestically, we have worked with many established franchise brands to refresh documentation and approach, including the revision of manuals. We have also set up franchise operations for emerging brands to bring on their first pilot franchisees in sectors including healthcare, after-school activity, and food and beverage to name a few.
It has been a busy and exciting year. What does 2017/2018 hold? We believe that the economy has withstood the uncertainties of the Brexit vote and political events in North America and Europe to the point that people have regained the confidence to make business investment decisions. We are seeing real evidence of normality
returning to franchising, both from the point of view of potential franchisees investing in their
futures (and the exhibitions around the country have generally been attended by some high-quality candidates), and also in the way in which businesses have made the decision to start their journey towards becoming a franchisor. We are optimistic of 2017 and beyond, and
we are hoping for a period of economic and political calm to allow business to develop in a stable and prosperous climate. n
