Anticipated growth in the Saudi Arabia foodservice market


ALI GROUP NORTH AMERICA BECOMES WELBILT Following the acquisition of Welbilt last year, Ali Group in North America will now be known as Welbilt. “This strategic move leverages Welbilt’s strong brand reputation, significant market presence, comprehensive customer solutions and well-established relationships particularly within the QSR sector, with the goal of offering the most complete turnkey solutions package in the industry,” said CEO Filippo Berti. The corporate executives of the


newly formed North American group will be: Filippo Berti, chairman and CEO; Bradford Willis, CFO; Rob August, executive vice president (with focus on sales and distribution); and Tom Hotard, executive vice president (with focus on operations and engineering). Current Welbilt CEO Kevin Clark will be appointed to the board of directors of the North American group.

SAUDI ARABIA FOODSERVICE SET FOR A SURGE IN GROWTH A recent report by IMARC Group concluded that the Saudi Arabia foodservice market is set to grow at a rate of 8.55% during 2024-2032. The report, titled Saudi Arabia Foodservice Market: Industry Trends, Share, Size, Growth, Opportunity and Forecast 2024-2032, highlighted factors including GDP growth, disposable income levels, and employment rates as big influences on consumer spending on dining out and food consumption. Changing consumer preferences and lifestyle further impact on the foodservice sector.

THE MICHELIN GUIDE FRANCE 2024 REWARDS 62 NEWLY STARRED RESTAURANTS Among the restaurants receiving new Michelin stars in this year’s French edition was La Table du Castellet, which was awarded three stars at the first attempt and made head chef Fabien Ferré the youngest French chef to hold the honor. Le Gabriel – La Réserve Paris also went home with three stars. Eight establishments were awarded two stars and 52 new one- star entries were announced, with 30 of them having opened in the past year in a vintage year for France.
