FCSI EF UPDATE

Start as we mean to go on

2024 is shaping up to be a milestone year for the Educational Foundation, says president Garrett Lennon FCSI

W

e are only a few months in to 2024 and there has already been a flurry of activity for

the FCSI Educational Foundation (EF). We started the year with our first-ever Educational Foundation town hall meeting. Te hour-long meeting featured three components: a brief history of the Foundation, its structure and its mission, an update on the foodservice consultant certificate program at Western Kentucky University and details of the FEED (Foodservice Essentials for Effective Design) Workshop in Nashville. More than 40 members of FCSI

participated in the town hall, asking many questions, which provided for an excellent dialogue about the Foundation. Te follow-up feedback was exceptionally positive. Another town hall is planned for later this year. Te first-ever FEED workshop

took place over three days in February Over 60 people were in attendance at this educational event, which was a fundraiser for the Foundation to help further our commitment to working with members to secure the future of the foodservice consulting industry through nurturing the next generation of professional foodservice consultants.

LEARN MORE ABOUT FCSI EF The Foodservice Consultant Certificate Program, which has been in the works for the last three years, will make its debut during the fall semester at Western Kentucky University. The curriculum has been officially approved by the university, the final step in the approval process. Check out the video on our website at fcsief.org.

Most of our board members will be in attendance at the FCSI meeting in Austin. We will be wearing ribbons on our badges that say, “Ask Me About the EF.” Ask us. We would love to talk about all the great things that are happening with the Educational Foundation.
