Entries are now open for the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards and the Northamptonshire Education Awards, following an offi cial launch at Delapré Abbey. Businesses from across the county, along with schools, colleges, individuals and teams from the education sector, have until September 12 to get their entries in. From there, the panels of independent judges will consider the
shortlist in time for two glittering awards ceremonies in November. Actor and comedian Tom Davis, star of the TV sitcom King
Gary and the smash hit film Wonka, will be the host of the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards, to be held at the County Ground in Northampton on Friday, November 21. A week later, on Friday, November 28, former World Champion
badminton player and Olympic silver medallist Gail Emms will be at the same venue to host the Northamptonshire Education Awards. Sponsors, former winners, judges and invited guests gathered in
the Dining Room at Delapré Abbey to hear Ben T omas, Managing Director of awards organisers All T ings Business unveil details of this year’s events. He said: “I want to thank all the organisations that have
supported us over the years – some amazing things have come out of these awards, and not just in showcasing businesses, schools and teachers. Business owners have become active school governors as a result, and are really making a diff erence; others have gone into schools to give talks or off ered work days to bring young people in to fi nd out more about the workplace.

“T ere’s still a long way to go, of course, but we believe in our
motto of Business needs Education, Education needs Business and hopefully we will all continue to help to make a diff erence.” Categories in this year’s Northamptonshire Business Excellence
Awards include the Professional Services Award, Innovation, Sustainability and Employer of the Year. T ose in the education sector can select from 14 categories including Healthy School of the Year, IT Champion, Primary or Secondary School of the Year and the Unsung Hero awards in the Northamptonshire Education Awards, for which the headline sponsor is Tick Education. Alll of the awards, which hold an Outstanding rating from
the Awards Trust Mark scheme, are free to enter and there is no restriction on the number of categories that can be entered. Tickets for the awards events will go on sale in September once
entries close. Some sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses or organisations that would like to get involved in this year’s awards.
