Get fi t for the future with business apprenticeships
Nurturing in-house talent today to take on the leadership roles of tomorrow has just been made easier with the launch of Moulton College’s Business Apprenticeships. According to accountancy and advisory fi rm Azets, fewer than one
in ten businesses in the UK have integrated succession planning into their strategy. Yet upskilling your existing workforce can prove the most eff ective way to maintain productivity and continuity for success. Now, to better support local employers with succession
planning, Moulton College has evolved its apprenticeship off ering to include Operations Manager Level 5, Team Leader Level 3 and Administration Level 2 alongside distance learning options in Digital Marketing and Business Administration at Level 2. T e Operations Manager, Team Leader, and Administration
apprenticeship programmes can be tailored to meet the specifi c needs of individual businesses and delivered on site to support time-poor companies looking to upskill their workforce. Debbie Scotton, Head of Growth, Innovation and Partnerships
at Moulton College said: “We recognised the need to deliver fl exible and business-focused apprenticeships that can support Midlands- based employers with succession planning, particularly those with an ageing workforce and specifi c skills gaps. “By bringing our apprenticeship programmes to the workplace,
we can fl ex around the needs of businesses, whatever sector they are in and however they would like to approach the upskilling of their existing staff .

“Our off ering is relevant for a range of diff erent businesses and
aimed at adults already in employment who have been identifi ed as managers and team leaders of the future. Each programme can be custom branded, with Moulton College’s expert Business Studies staff delivering theoretical units and practical skills tailored to the hosting organisation’s sector and objectives. “Our fl exible off ering also means apprenticeships can begin at
any time of the year and be delivered at the business’s own premises alongside a monthly one-day workshop at Moulton College for a minimum of 15 months.” Moulton College, which was recently awarded ‘Good’ status by
Ofsted, is also working with Learn Direct provider Pearl to roll out its Digital Marketing Level 2 and Business Administration Level 2 short courses via a distance learning model. Debbie added: “Our apprenticeship off ering is designed to help
fi ll local skills gaps and enable businesses to transition existing staff into more senior positions. “The modules are business-fit, whether that is a focus on
fi nance, technology and industry trends or skills like teamwork, communication and people management, with the apprenticeships empowering employees with the skills, training, competencies and knowledge needed to prepare them for new challenges. In turn, this improves staff retention for the employer, driving down the cost of recruitment and ensuring business continuity. “By partnering with local businesses, we can help their
employees gain much-needed skills and create a committed and skilled workforce fi t for the future.”
