Empowering fi nancial wellbeing: supporting businesses through fi nancial health checks

Josh Evans, David Williams IFA Mortgage & Insurance Services

At David Williams IFA Mortgage & Insurance Services (DW MIS), we’ve always believed that fi nancial wellbeing should be accessible, personal and empowering. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with businesses of all sizes and industries – and one thing is consistently clear: when people feel fi nancially secure, they perform better, feel more confi dent, and build stronger futures for themselves and their families. T at’s why I’m proud of the work we do at DW MIS, espe-

cially when it comes to our Financial Health Checks. T ese are comprehensive, free of charge reviews we off er to the staff and directors of other companies, covering Personal Mortgage Reviews, Personal Insurance Reviews (including life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection), and, for senior team members, Shareholder and Key Person Protection. We can also review group policies for the whole staff /team, such as Private Medical Cover. We’re not just here to tick a box – we’re here to make a

real diff erence. When we talk about a Financial Health Check, we’re

talking about taking the time to sit down with someone – one-to-one – and help them understand where they stand

fi nancially. Too many people are unsure if they’re on the best mortgage deal, or they’re relying on life insurance policies that were taken out years ago and might no longer be fi t for purpose. A Financial Health Check typically covers these core

areas:

Personal Mortgage Reviews Mortgages are usually the biggest fi nancial commitment people make, but surprisingly few review them regularly. Interest rates, fi xed terms and personal circumstances change – and that can open opportunities to save money or make smarter choices. I’ve helped people remortgage to new lenders where

savings could be achieved, or guided them through prod- uct transfers that aligned better with their lifestyle or future goals. Sometimes it’s not about switching products at all – it’s about off ering reassurance that they’re in a good place or giving them a plan for when the current deal ends.

Insurance Reviews Protection is something many people overlook until it’s too late. Our reviews cover life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection. T ese areas are incredibly impor- tant –not just for individuals, but for their families too. A lot of people assume their work policies cover

everything, but when we sit down and look at the detail, there are often gaps or overlaps. We help them understand what they actually have, what they might need, and how to put the right protection in place without overpaying.
