Midshires Electrical & Lighting
Record fi gures shine a light on growth and stability
T e future looks bright for one of the region’s biggest electrical wholesalers, with a new team of directors reporting a record monthly fi gure in March. Midshires Electrical and Lighting celebrated 20 years in business
in 2023 by announcing that experienced team members Craig Rose and Jamie Faulkner would become Operations Director and Sales Director. T ey were joined last year by Finance Director Sarah Cameron, and the trio have steered the Crow Lane Industrial Estate fi rm into an excellent position to build and grow. T e continued demand for renewables, and a loyal customer
base that has an eye fi rmly on saving energy and reducing carbon footprints, means the future looks healthy. Craig Rose said: “T is company has built up a great team. As
younger directors, we have a drive and passion about where the company is going, but we couldn’t do that without the senior management team we have behind us. We’re going from strength to strength with a loyal team and a loyal customer base.” Midshires has a trade counter at its Hartburn Close headquarters
where anyone can call in to pick up what they need. T ere’s also an app through which most customers manage their orders and accounts. T e company works with the corporate, housing and construction
sectors, partnering with them to advise on the best products on the market. Sustainability is now as high on the agenda in the electrical and lighting business as cost, with customers having to meet the demands of offi cial regulations as well as the environmental targets of their own businesses and throughout their supply chains.
Jamie Faulkner said: “T e company has evolved over the years
and the renewables sector is an important one for us. But it’s a competitive and sometimes diffi cult marketplace, so to have a record month is amazing. We’ve got a good customer base, a lot of long-term customers, but also a lot of new and developing ones. I think much of our success is down to having a great team; a lot of them have been with the wcompany for a long time and that means they get to know customers and customers get to know them, and that makes all the diff erence.” Since it was founded in 2003 by Ben Fountain, Midshires
Electrical and Lighting has always put the emphasis on quality over price. While always remaining competitive, the Midshires team accepts the company is not always the cheapest, but the ethos has always been that the products supplied are high quality and will always be the best products for the job. Sarah Cameron added: “We’re going through some uncertain
times at the moment generally, with things going on in the world and economic upheaval, so having a record month is fantastic. It demonstrates stability and puts employees’ minds at rest that we’ve got a good solid business here and whatever happens we can ride things out and stay at the top of what we do.”
