Retail revamp for new-look charity shop

A retail revamp at Cynthia Spencer Hospice’s charity shop and donation station will see the launch of a new-look charity shop later this month. T e current outlet, in Pondwood Close, Northampton, is used

predominantly for collecting clothing donations and household items for the charity to sell on, either online or through the onsite shop. The six-week phased refurbishment, which is currently in

progress, will create a larger, open plan, more accessible shopping area, a changing room and a dedicated homeware section, which will hopefully attract more customers and increase retail income. T e hospice team are also creating more effi cient storage pens

for stock, increasing shop fl oor space, and installing additional shelving in order to display wares more attractively. Departments inside the store will include, menswear,

womenswear, childrenswear, shoes, accessories, books, toys and games, electricals and furniture. It is hoped that the changes will make the Moulton Park shop

more user-friendly, brighter and welcoming for shoppers. New signage outside will show visitors exactly where to go for bargains. During the refurbishment, the shop continues to trade as normal.

Once the works are completed, there will be an offi cial relaunch with great fanfare on Saturday, May 24. T e whole community is invited to attend and take a look at

the changes made, or even make a purchase to support the local cause, which provides vital palliative care services across West Northamptonshire. Anita Frith, Director of Fundraising at Cynthia Spencer Hospice,

said: “We are very excited to be relaunching the charity shop and donation station at our Moulton Park site. T e retail arm of the hospice is a crucial part of our fundraising, and we hope that the community will support us in our eff orts to create a welcoming treasure trove for bargain hunters. “When buying LOVED BY Cynthia you are helping the

environment, by choosing preloved rather than fast fashion. Not only that but your purchases support our patients and families receiving vital care at Cynthia Spencer Hospice – both now and in the future. “Don’t forget to save the date for the relaunch on Saturday, May

24. If you can’t get to our shop, there are lots of ways you can buy preloved and support the hospice online via our website.” T e charity shop and donation station at Pondwood Close is open 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
