MK Ethnic Business Impact Report

Report will shine a light on the economic contribution of ethnically diverse fi rms

Milton Keynes Ethnic Business Community (MKEBC) and Whitecap Consulting have announced the launch of the Milton Keynes Ethnic Business Impact Report While 38% of the Milton Keynes population come from an

ethnically diverse group, crucial data is lacking on the signifi cant contributions that ethnically diverse businesses have on the local economy. T erefore, MKEBC and Whitecap Consulting have partnered to

address this data gap. T is extensive analysis is set to help understand the positive infl uence that the ethnic business community has on Milton Keynes’ economy. Not only will the Whitecap team conduct research to estimate the economic contributions of ethnically diverse populations and businesses, but they will also undertake a broader analysis using company information, innovation insights, and interviews with leaders from ethnically diverse backgrounds. Ranjit Singh, Co-founder of Milton Keynes Ethnic Business

Community (MKEBC) said: “In a world where data is king, it is important now more than ever to research and present this report to Milton Keynes. We do not know how much we contribute to the wider economy of MK and this report will not only give us the facts but will also drive further discussion and projects to develop the economy. MK is proudly an ethnically diverse city, and we all play a

part in its growth and we would like to know how much of that is due to ethnic communities. I look forward to working with the sector to realise this ambition and the vision of making MK the most inclusive city in the UK to do business.” Lal Tawney, Director at Whitecap Consulting, highlighted the

importance of this collaboration. He said: “We’re very excited about working with MKEBC on this landmark project. For the fi rst time, we’ll have a clear picture of the immense value ethnic businesses bring to our economy. But this report will not be just about numbers - it’s about celebrating the stories of the individuals behind these businesses, the hard work they put in, and the positive impact they have on our city. T e fi ndings will provide valuable insights for policymakers, businesses and the wider community including the future plans for MKEBC, and promise to be a powerful catalyst for fostering a more inclusive and prosperous Milton Keynes for all.” The project will result in a comprehensive report and the

recommendations derived will play a pivotal role in shedding light on the barriers these businesses face and off er strategies to foster a more inclusive, supportive business environment. Milton Keynes organisations are invited to be a part of this

transformative initiative. The organisers are also looking for institutions to fi nancially sponsor this project and contribute to ground-breaking research that will empower ethnic businesses to thrive.
