New initiative drives benefi ts for businesses
Silverstone Museum has launched a new initiative aimed at businesses within the region. T e museum, located trackside at the iconic Silverstone
Circuit, home of the British Grand Prix, has announced the launch of its new Friends of Silverstone Museum corporate membership opportunity, geared to regional businesses. By becoming a Friend of Silverstone Museum,
businesses will enjoy exclusive benefits for both the organisation and its employees, while also helping the museum to continue inspiring the next generation of motorsport stars and fans. Businesses pledging their support for the initiative will
gain access to a wide range of benefi ts for their teams, including free venue hire, free admission for employees and special access to the museum’s year-round programme of exclusive exhibitions and events. Silverstone Museum CEO, Phil Lawrie, explained how
the Friends of Silverstone Museum membership will enable the attraction to continue its vital work within the community and its enhanced educational off ering, which every year inspires thousands of children to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects. He said: “Our Friends of Silverstone Museum
initiative is an exciting new development which we are delighted to launch to the wider business community in our region. Our supporters are instrumental in helping us tell the story of British motor racing and inspire the next generation to add their own chapters to an already incredible history here at Silverstone.
“By joining, businesses will be part of a community
that enables thousands of children to experience and participate in our popular education workshops, tailored to children and students of all ages at every level of their education, whether it’s learning about how Formula 1 tyres work, understanding aerodynamics or choosing careers within motorsport. “Support from corporate members will help us to
continue our day-to-day operation, including maintaining and preserving an historic archive of racing memorabilia, growing our extensive, exciting collection of racing cars and motorbikes and providing a world-class experience for over 150,000 visitors each year.” Depending on an organisation’s tier of support they will
be entitled to a wide range of benefi ts as part of its selected membership, including: ■ Venue Hire – at least one free meeting room hire per year.
■ Exclusive Access – invitations to previews of future exhibitions and special events.
■ Free Admission – an allocation of at least 50 Silverstone Museum entry tickets.
■ Recognition – physical branding in the museum and inclusion on its website.
■ Social Media – at least two social media posts per year highlighting members’ business.
■ Discounts – 20% discount in the museum café and 10% discount in the shop.
With museum visitor numbers for 2024 forecast to exceed 160,000, the attraction continues to experience signifi cant growth, which means the potential audience reach for companies committing to a membership is substantial. Phil added: “Becoming a Friend of Silverstone Museum
