Women Leaders UK Awards
Awards are all ready to celebrate inspirational women
Entries and nominations are now open for this year’s Women Leaders UK Awards following a launch event at the South Central Institute of Technology that brought together women from across the Milton Keynes business community, including past winners and guest speakers. At the event, sponsored by the MK College Group, guests heard
from Dr Deirdre Anderson from Cranfi eld University, which delivered the fi rst Women’s Leadership programme in the UK nearly four dec- ades ago. Dr Anderson, who is Director of the Gender, Leadership and Inclusion Centre at Cranfi eld spoke about workplace and leadership development over the years and how opportunities for women have come a long way. After nominations were offi cially opened, there followed a break-
out event that allowed guests to introduce themselves to others and consider which categories they could be nominated for.

Dr Julie Mills OBE DL, Chair of Women Leaders UK, said: “We
are absolutely delighted to have launched the 2024 awards and look forward to seeing the nominations. T e awards are an important part of raising awareness and funds to support our work off ering mentoring and internship schemes to women in all business sectors across the Milton Keynes area. “Although there are more opportunities now than ever before,
there are still too few women in leadership roles. We work with women from all sectors and backgrounds, and there are some brilliant women in Milton Keynes, excelling at what they do and also fi nding time to help others and support them in being brilliant at what they do, too. “T e awards recognises and highlights those achievements and
we hope more women than ever will enter or nominate someone else in one of this year’s categories.”
