A new member of the Little Green family
Little Green Bus in Clitheroe has taken delivery of a new arrival in the shape of a brand new Mercedes Sprinter acces sible minibus. Donna Atkinson, the manager of Lit tle Green Bus said: “We are absolutely delighted at our new arrival, thanks to a successful bid we made to The Big Lot tery Reaching Communities.’’
As well as funding the new minibus, the Big Lottery has also provided funds for Little Green Bus to expand some of their existing door-to-door transport services in the Ribble Valley, support ing those who require help getting to medical appointments, getting their shopping and also for general access to community events and services.

flu jab, you should get a vacci nation before winter sets in and the chance of getting flu increases.” More than 75 per cent of
over 65s in Lancashire re ceived a flu jab last year, com pared to the national average ofalmost73percent. . But for people under 65 in ‘at risk’ groups in Lancashire, just over 53percentwere vac-

just over 50 per cent for Eng land.
Coun.Ali added: “It’s im
portant to think ahead, before you start to feel unwell. “This campaign raises
awareness ofwhat people can do to help themselves to stay well, to help everyone this winter. “Even if you had a flu jab last winter, you’ll need to get ■ another one this year, so that
it is updated to protect you against the latest flu strains." Here are some general
hints to help yourself and your friends and family to stay well through the winter: • Make sure that you get
any prescriptions before De cember 24th, to reduce the need for medical help during the Christmas and New Year period. • Complete the course of
prescription medicines. • Keepaswarmasyoucan
and stock up on winter food supplies, in case you feel un well and can’t go out. • Keep an eye on any of
your friends, neighbours and relatives who are elderly or frail. - For more information
