School breaks up for Christmas next Friday, reopening on January 5 th. Tickets are being sold around the village for a Christmas hamper draw organised by the PTA. They cost £1 arid the draw will be made next week.


Draw Winners Sabden Bowling Club held


its annual Christmas cheese and wine evening on Saturday in the clubhouse and it was a very festive event despite the weather with horse racing, a tombola, raffle, quiz and refreshments. The Christmas draw winners were Pat Whit- well (£125), Margaret Wright (£75), Barbara Warburton (£50), Eric Bywater (£30), Jack Keogh (£20), Leo Clarkson (£15), Bill Rimmer (£10) and Joe Wright (£10).
