1 NEWS IN BRIEF Dangerous driving charge
A 54-year-old biker has appeared before Blackburn magis trates charged with dangerous driving following a 129 mph crash near Whalley. Roman John Mondryck is alleged to have been involved in “racing and showing off" during the incident on June 7th which ended with his bike hitting a car and him suffering se-' riousiqjuries. Mondryk, of Bridge Hall Fold, Bury, is charged with danger ous driving on a Yamaha YZF Ri on Accrington Road. He was sent on bail to Preston Crown Court.

The ladies were very much in charge at a Girls’ Night for char ity in Clitheroe. Organised by committee members from the Royal British
Legion, the event raised £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Entertainment included a Robbie Williams tribute act,
fashion shows by Style Diva and Ann Summers plus a sale of perfume and make up. There was also a grand raffle.

The latest Ofsted annual re port says 84% of Lancashire’s secondary pupils, and 89% of primary pupils, attend schools that have been
judged good or outstanding, above regional and national averages.
