Community The Ladies Day Sunday service at Billington Community Church was taken by Mrs Kath Taylor who spoke of “A Woman’s role in the Church Today”. At the next meeting on April 14th, Matthew Lepp will speak about the history of soap making and bathing. The competition will be for the nicest-smelling barofsoap!
Leaving by coach on Tuesday, they take the overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam, spend Wednesday tour ing the bulbfields and looking round the gar dens before returning to Rotterdam for the overnight ferry, arriving home on Thursday.
Many thanks to every one who supported the event and to the members who donated the lovely selection of prizes. Members and friends are looking for ward to a “mini-cmise” to the Dutch bulbfields and Keukenhof Gar dens next week.
Tim, from Waddington Cafe, provided a deli cious lasagne supper and a glorious array of desserts. The wonderful sum of £216 was raised, which will be shared between the Denman College bursary and the Grindleton Pavilion Project.
WI Fifty-two members and friends of Grindleton WI enjoyed a bingo evening in the village school hall. Sue Har greaves proved to be a very entertaining caller!
