Mission accomplished for organ campaign
THE.popular Chatburn Music Events series established to raise money for a replacement organ at Christ Church, Chatburn, has succeeded in achieving that goal in just 12 months. Organiser Clive Greenwood
said: “This is a remarkable achievement - and one that ex ceeds everyone’s expectations. “We are currently assessing a
number of organs with a view to purchasing a replacement in the near future. Canon Rodney N i- , cholson and members of the PCC are most grateful to all who have
: made donations and attended the music events. . “It is most fitting .that the Grand Choir will be joining us in
performance.to celebrate this, as they gave the very first concert in- this series just 12 months ago. It is planned for the music events to ; continue due to their popular ap peal, and for some of the money . raised in the future to be donated to charity.” -T he 50-strong Grand-Choir. will perform Christmas carols ■ and popular songs in the candlelit church on Friday, December 9th, beginning at 7r30 p.m. - ^ .
