, West Air Ambulance. •; ;. Mr Steve Carroll (41), who runs the Buck Inn,Paythorne, with his wife, Rachael, will give away free beer battered fish and chips for the:
first 50 readers of the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times. ■ The offer began yesterday and is up for grabs between noon'and 2- 30 p.m. today, tomorrow and Sat urday. Steve, who has been running the
pub for the past three years, said: “We hope to raise much-needed funds for the air ambulance, which is a voluntary organisation arid relies heavily on donations from members of the public. ' “We live out in the sticks and on

NEW jobs will be created across Pennine Lancashire thanks to a joint bid from- local authorities in East Lan cashire. By joining forces, all seven
Pennine Lancashire local authorities - Lancashire County Council, Ribble Val-' ley, Blackburn with Darwen, Rossendale, Burnley, Pendle and Hyndbum - were able to make a successful joint bid for Government funding. The bid for £ 4 .5m. is to.
fund a wide variety of jobs across public sector organisa- ■ tions, their supply chains, ■ third sector organisations, social enterprises, community: interest companies and new
businesses supported through the “No Limits” Local Enter prise Growth Initiative. ’ The jobs will come on line
in the autumn in a range of areas including sport and play development, leisure, parks, maintenance and youth work, and from next week the Department of Work and Pensions will work with coun cils and voluntary groups on developing the new posts. By January next year every
18 to 24-year-old who is approaching. 12 months’ unemployment or more will be guaranteed a new job, training or paid work experi ence place. ■
