Pupils have a nose

A BBC project to engage 11 to 14-year-olds in the news saw pupils at Bow- land High School become reporters for the day. A news team of 16

pupils from the Kibble Valley school joined up with around 500 schools across the UK for the “BBC School Report” day.

, Over the past few

look at the impact the new media and music block will have on learn ing at Bowland and the final group questioned pupils about whether EE should be a compulsory subject in school. “All the pupils carried •

out their role in a profes sional manner interview ing the Head.and the Keystage 3 manager, as well as other pupils in school.” The high school’s Head

of ICT and Enterprise, Miss Emma Wilkinson, added: “The ICT skills, developed by the pupils were excellent and cov ered a wide range of soft ware. The project also provided a great oppor tunity for pupils to devel op skills essential to the world of work, such as co-operating in teams and working under pres sure to meet deadlines.” On Thursday at 2 p.m. the students broadcast
