formances were recorded by Andrew Wenham with seven A*s and two As and Amy Arnold who gained four A*s and four A grades. Headteacher Simon Smith said: “The continuous
iiriprovement in our results is do™ to the hard work of our pupils and their teachers., “They have together met the chal
lenges set for them and I am proud of what has been achieved by our pupils in Years 9,10 and 11. 'These are great results collectively and individually in so many cases.” Pupils at Stonyhurst College were
also celebrating another successful year of GCSE exam results with
89% achieving A* to C grades - well above the national average of almost 66%. And 14 pupils gained A* or A grades in nine or more subjects. Headmaster Andrew Johnson com
mented: “I am very pleased with these results. It is particularly encouraging that we have increased our A* and A grades, especially in the more 'difficult' subjects. Con gratulations to our pupils and teach ers on all their hard work!”
