Advertiser and Times teamed up the local Salvation Army to collect gifts for youngsters of all ages - from tots to teens. This year’s pile of presents
was boosted with a donation from Clitheroe’s Sainsbury’s store with staff donating items specifically aimed at teenagers. Capt Elizabeth Smith, of
the Salvation Army, said: “People round the Ribble Val ley have big hearts and we are very grateful for all they have done.”

Officer for Ribble Valley Bor ough Council, is contacting groups across the area and ask ing them to make banners for the Clitheroe Festival Weekend and Bowland Festival 2008. The banners should in some way represent the organisations
making them, or the activities they are involved with. Representatives of the groups
which get involved will work with a professional a r t is t in designing their banner or flag and learning how to make it, then passing on that knowledge to their particular group. There will be a banner parade
on Saturday, May 17th, before the banners go on display for a full month in Clitheroe’s main
