LIVING in “a hole” wouldn’t normally conjure up delightful “des res” images, unless it is the Priest Hoie, in King Street, Whalley. On the market with athertons at
£245,000, this is a charming cottage in the heart of a highly sought-after village. The Priest Hole is an unusually spa
cious two-bedroom property bursting with period features and a surprise in the garden! At almost 18 feet long, the lounge is
a fabulous room with a superb stone fireplace and hearth, exposed stone wall, beams, laminate flooring and a built-in pine cupboard. Coloured leaded
glass doors lead to the kitchen, which has a good range of fitted units with complementary work surfaces, plus a built-in electric oven with gas hob, wall- mounted combi boiler, ceramic tiled floor and is plumbed for a washer and dish washer. An open tread return staircase leads
to the first floor landing, with ladder access to a partly-boarded loft. Front and rear bedrooms each have
hardwood leaded double-glazed win dows. The house bathroom has a white three-piece suite. To the rear is a landscaped garden, with patio areas, planted borders and a
raised pond. Also found to the rear is this property’s hidden gem, a superb garden room, converted to a teenager’s den, complete with underfloor heating, inset lighting, a mezzanine bed and its own fully-tiled wet room! For details or to view, call the agent on 01254 828810. (
