For the last 12 months there have been only four volunteers pro viding round the clock cover, seven days a week, and they urgently need more support. Because of work and other commitments, they have made the difficult decision to stand down the team during April, as they cannot provide regu lar cover. The situa tion will be reviewed on May 8th at their next monthly meet ing.
Villagers raised thou sands of pounds to buy equipment for the team. The village fund-raising cam paign began with £1,200 donated by family and friends in memory of popular Sabden man Dan Thompson (21), who died after a road acci dent.
They provide 24 hour cover in rural loca tions around the county supporting Lancashire Ambu lance Service by attending serious and life threatening 999 calls within their local community. Community First responders do save lives!
