forced to shuffle after last week’s victory; with Simon Coulter and James Moody returning on the wing and at scrum half respectively. Will Jones moving back to hooker and Roger Holmes dropping back into loose forward. And with club vice-cap-


tain Andrew Rigby contin­ uing to lead the team on the pitch, plus the bonus of a strong su b s t itu te s ’ bench, confidence was high. However,

of, what can only be described as substandard scrummaging, Clitheroe found it impossible to gain any forward momentum to get their quick rucking game going. Sensing the game was


slipping away from them, Clitheroe tried to increase the tempo and put some fire back in their game.
