YOUNGSTERS from Clitheroe Royal Grammar School are jetting off to Brussels after snatching top prize at the Young Enterprise French language competition. Orange Sherbet, which designs and pro
duces a range of coasters and jewellery, gave a lively performance in the form of a television advert in French in the competi tion at Towneley Hall, Burnley. They fought off stiff competition from
four other schools after being judged on the clarity and correctness of the spoken French, how well the presentation sold the product, the use of promotional aids and entertainment value. Peter Bickerton, Emily Hallworth, Jung
t * ^ I ".T r
Yin Tsang and Megan Whittaker received a trophy and will attend the Jeunes Enter prise Congress 2005 in Brussels later this month. They have also been asked to per form the winning presentation a t the regional showcase event in April. Orange Sherbet also recently won the Press Advert competition. Aileen Evans, chairman of Young Enter
prise in East Lancashire, said: “All the schools gave fantastic presentations and it was a shame there could only be one win ner. The quality of both the presentations and the spoken French was second to none. “These events are always very popular
with our Young Enterprise companies as it gives them the opportunity to promote
their products as well as their talents in other areas. I am sure they will enjoy their trip to the Jeunes Enterprise Congress and we will be very interested to hear about their adventure when they return.” The judges were Corrine Pichonnat of
Ultraframe Pic and French language expert Peter Spencer. Also competing from the Ribble Valley
were members of Ribblesdale High School Technology College company Alchemy, comprising Hannah Chorlton, Natasha Hesketh, Tom Howard and Megan Parkin son. Pictured are members of the grammar
school's team. Orange Sherbet with some of their products. (A100105/3)
