“SLAP HAPPY” communi­ ty drumming group has organised an African drum­ ming tas ter session in Clitheroe this weekend. Drumming tutor Paul

Road, on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. It is designed for anyone


interested in African drum­ ming and in particular those who might consider taking up an 11-week beginners’ course starting at the end of


the month. Paul has been working with “Slap Happy” for over a year now. The group practises at the Station House in Whalley on Mon­ day evenings and is looking to attra c t more members with a view to practising


together for fun and working towards performances at fes­ tivals and events throughout


the area. “Slap Happy” recently


played at Clitheroe Great Days Festival and at Lark in the Park in Clayton-le-


Moors. The tas ter session costs £5 and is open to all ages and abilities, although those under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Refreshments will be provided. To book a place, call 01200 427666.
