mmm Free training with musical ensemble
FREE training for young double bass players is on offer from Settle Orchestral Society. The musical ensemble,
which draws several of its members from the Kibble Valley, is able to offer the tuition thanks to a generous legacy from Jennifer Smith, who played cello and double bass with the orchestra for many years. Vanessa Humphryes, a
qualified double bass player from Nelson and a regular member of the orchestra, will provide the tuition. Settle Orchestral Society
gives regular performances throughout the year, often featuring guest miists, and is always willing to offer places to players of Grade Six s ta n d i or higher, par ticularly string instrumen talists. For more details about
the tuition or the society, telephone its secretary, Enid Pyrah, on 01756 792642. ® Settle Orchestral Soci
ety will perform at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School’s Chatburn Road site on November 20th, at 7-30 p.m.
