Business as usual at trade tair

YOUNG business-minded pupils will once again turn their entrepreneurial skills into hard cash at the annual Young Enterprise Christ mas Trade Fair which takes

place tonight. Whalley Abbey will be the

venue for the popular event, which mil tie in nicely with the village’s Pickwick Night festivi ties. The fair will be opened at 6-

30 p.m. by a mystery celebrity guest and is expected to attract hundreds of customers, who will browse through the highly individual and unique creations produced by talented high school pupils. Quality school calendars,

desk magnets, keyrings, torch es and bracelets are just some of the hand-crafted items that will be on display by teenagers from four schools across East Lan cashire. All this creation is, of course,

thanks to the Young Enterprise Scheme, which encourages pupils aged 15 and above to deal with real-life business issues by inventing a product and then promoting it.
