It is proposed to provide two additional classrooms at the school with effect from September 2004. The proposal will increase the school’s assessed capacity from 202 to 262 places. In January 2003 there were 221 pupils on roll at the school. The number of pupils to be admitted to the main school at age*4+ in September 2004 and subsequent years will be 40. The current standard number of pupils admitted to the school at this age is 30. The school will continue to be conducted as a Voluntary Aided School and religious instruction will be given during school hours in accordance with the provisions of Section 69 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 and in conformity with the Doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church (subject to the provisions of Section 71 of the said Act). The school is available mainly for children from the area served by the Roman Catholic Parishes of St Mary’s, Langho and English Martyrs, Whalley. 2. The proposed standard number has been determined after assessing the physical capacity of the school in accordance with the recommendations and requirements of the Department for Education Circular No. 6/91 and a copy of the completed capacity assessment form is available for inspection at the School.
3. Standard numbers have been abolished and Admission Authorities will have regard to the Indicated Admission Number generated in accordance with the Department for Education and Skills Guidance on Assessing the Net Capacity of Schools

SCHOOL STANDARDS AND FRAMEWORK ACT 1998 EDUCAT ION A C T 2002
BLACKBURN CHURCH OF ENGLAND DIOCESE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
WHALLEY CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with section 28(2) of the School Standards and FramcworkAct 1998, that we the undersigned intend to make a prescribed alteration to Whalley Church of England Primary School, Church Lane, Whallcy, Clitheroe BB7 9SY and has made the following proposals for that purpose.
It is proposed to provide two additional classrooms at the school with effect from September 2004. The proposal will increase the school’s assessed capacity from 220 to 280 places. In January 2003 there were 245 pupils on roll at the school.
The number of pupils to be admitted to the main school at the age 4-1- in September 2004 and subsequent years will be 40.
The current standard number of pupils admitted to the school at this age is 35.
The school will continue to be conducted as a Voluntary Aided School and religious instruction will be given during school hours in accordance with the provisions of Section 69 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 and in conformity with the Doctrines of the Church of England (subject to the provisions of Section 71 of the said Act).
The school is available mainly for children from the area served by the Ecclesiastical Parish of Whalley St. Mary and All Saints.
Within two months after the date of publication of these proposals any person may object to the proposals by sending
their objections to the Secretary to the School Organisation Committee, Resources Directorate, PO Box 78, County Hall, Preston, PR I 8XJ.

The proposed number of pupils to be admitted has been determined after assessing the physical capacity of the school in accordance with the recommendations and requirements of the Department for Educational Circular No. 6/91 and a copy of the capacity assessment form is available for inspection at the School.
3. Standard numbers have been abolished and Admission Authorities will have regard to the Indicated Admission Number generated in accordance with the Department for Education and Skills Guidance on Assessing the Net Capacity of Schools when proposing admission numbers from 2004/05 onwards.
4. Places at Whalley Church of England Primary School, and other Voluntary Aided schools, will continue to be allocated on the basis of Governors’ admission policies and further details can be obtained from Headteachers.
5. Places at Community and Voluntary Controlled schools will continue to be allocated on the basis of the Authority’s current admission policy, details of which can be obtained from the Pupil Access Team at the Area Education Office (East), Education and Cultural Services Directorate, The Globe Centre, St. James Centre, Accrington, BB5 ORE.
