HE support of Chris Tarrant has been enlisted by Marie Curie Cancer Care to launch the 2003 Daffodil
charity’s distinctive daffodils, Chris hopes to help Marie Curie Cancer Care raise’funds for its nationwide home nursing service, 10 hospices and world-class research work. Chris said: “How many of us think about
how we will be cared for if we - or a relative - have cancer?. Marie Curie nurses do an incredible job looking after adults and children with cancer and providing emotional support for families and carers at what can be an extremely frightening and stressful time.” The unique service that Marie Curie
Cancer Care offers is completely free of charge to patients, but it costs £15 for every
hour of nursing care supplied: The £2m. campaign target that Marie Curie hopes to reach this year will ensure that the charity can continue to combine care for today, with
; scientific research and hope for tomorrow. The support given by Yellow Pages ensures
that the cost of all promotional material and merchandise for the Daffodil Campaign is.
lalready covered - thereby ensuring that all the money raised goes straight to the charity. Everyone can help by making a donation
to the charity and wearing a Marie Curie daffodil. They are available from thousands , of local stores, schools and Marie Curie shops nationwide, and street collectors will be out in this area on March 8th. Marie Curie fund raisers are always on the lookout for volunteers and would love to hear from- anyone who could place a box of daffodils at their place of work, or help us collect on March 8th in their local town centre or supermarket. This Daffodil Campaign also sees the
launch of the first Daffodil Dance in the area, which is being held on March 1st at the De Tabley Function Suite in Ribchester. On arrival there will be a welcoming, drink
' followed by a three- course dinner. The music • will be provided by local group The Cube which features music from the ‘60s upwards.
