\ Barratt wish to build

SURPRISE package Gino Peregrine romped to the Lancashire Under 15 100m title at Blackpool's Stanley Park on Saturday. And the West Bradford youngster is now .

keeping his fingers crossed that he will be selected to compete at the English Schools' Championships in Nottingham next month. Peregrine only actually started sprinting

seriously in February-when he joined Preston Harriers, but clearly has natural talent. Facing a strong head-wind, that suited the

powerful runner, his time of 12 seconds dead Was down on his personal best of 11:75 seconds, but was enougli tosecure a comfortable victory. He and his coach at Preston now hope to

harness his talent and continue to bring out his great potential as Peregrine prepares to take on the best in the country.
