During this time, he has raised £6,500 for Der- ian House Children's Hos­ pice. The audience was enthralled with his read­ ings, many bringing laugh­ ter, and Mrs Mary Parker expressed appreciation. intermediate general meeting were discussed and voted on by members. At the June meeting, it

A L U N C H E O N club' is being set up for Iresidents of Vale Houjse, a sheltered housing scheme in Whalley. The complex only has


a sipall communal kitdhen, so £ 10,000 is being spent on extending it and buying catering equipment of the neces- sary:'scale to provide up to 40'lunches. The scheme reflects


the policy of both the Ribble "Valley Borough Council and the local primary health care trust to give people such as those in sheltered housing as many oppor­ tunities for meeting together and being as ind^endent as possible. So^he council and the


health group are sharing the'rapital expenditure. The'council will pay the running costs of the once|a-week lunches, but hop^s the charge made ■wilTrecoup them. is impossible to
