Popular person who smiled through difficult times
A POPULAR per sonality with many friends from school days and her work ing career has died
aged 46. The former Miss
Christine Hodson, later Mrs Hall and in recent years Mrs Riley, had suffered from a rare form of leukaemia for two
years. She will be remem
bered by everyone who knew her as a likeable personality who smiled through difficult times in
her life. Mrs Riley (pictured)
was one of six children,
and the family lived in Bolton-by-Bowland and later in Peel Park Close, Cliteroe.
A former pupil at what was then Rivers-
mead school, Mrs Riley worked at Crabtree s confectioners in Clith eroe for a time in her
teens. Then she spent several
years as an educational assistant at Calderstones Hospital, Whalley, bef ore moving to Trutex, Clitheroe. Mrs Riley working in the cutting room there for some 16 years, staying until she and many colleagues were made redundant. At one time a Billing-
