-winning cactus dahlias (T 0 3 0 9 0 1 /4 )

EVERYTHING in the garden is lovely for members of the Clitheroe Garden

Club. They had one of their

most successful annual shows of recent years at St James's School Hall, Chtheroe, on Saturday. The garden club,

formed by local people with a love of gardening, has been holding an annual show since the

1970s.Last year there were a little more than 300 entries of specimen flow ers, plants and vegeta

bles. This year, members excelled themselves and gave the judges a lot of extra work by submit ting more than 400 entries, which filled the exhibition tables in the

school hall. The club has more

than 100 members, who have been toiling in their gardens and on allot ments for months nur turing precious exhibits with their eyes on the show prize list.
