David’s business has been helping people to look smart for 25 years


DAVID GOLDIE is celebrating a silver anniversary after being in business for


25 years. David started out at


Unicorn House, Skip- ton, near to the bus sta­ tion, and the business moved to High Street


some 20 years ago. The business has expanded over time and,


four years ago, David extended the property, making a feature of the garden at the back of the


building. The shop offers a wide


variety of goods for both men and women, varying from flat caps to men’s formal wear, and sells many items not found


elsewhere. David originally began


by selling "clothes for the new generation", i.e. chil­ dren's wear and school wear, and until two years ago stocked uniforms. Now he concentrates
