Rope, Sky Cinema, 8.00pm. James Stewart fans are in for a real treat. Sky Cinema are broadcasting almost a day of his best turns, saving the best until the evening. There’s the taut Call Northside 777 and his two greatest works for Alfred Hitchcock (pictured), Rear Window and this drama. This is far more intriguing from a technical point of view. Look closely and it appears to be filmed as one continuous shot. In fact, it’s actually just a series of 10-minute takes. As for the story, it tells the tale of two college students who murder a friend purely to see if they can commit the perfect crime, and conceal the body in a chest while they host a cocktail party.
