Andrews, a gardening and horticultural expert from Garstang. Mr Andrews' talk was entitled "Intro ducing the Exotic" and was illustrated by slides which he had taken during his travels in various parts of the world. Although the plants shown came from very dif
ferent climatic regions of the world, most of them were suitable for planting in our own area, some being perfectly hardy and others requiring protection from our harshest winter weather. Mrs Myerscough pro

buy and cake stall, which all helped to finance the

Their party pieces were in two parts so at the interval Mrs Jean Holroyd told of the thrill and experience of going to Denman College. To finish off, our three talented members did another star turn. President Miss J Lockett wished everyone a safe journey home after a lovely get together evening, also reminding members tha t next month's speaker is Mr Roland Hailwood on DIY and tea hostesses will be Mesdames Hollings, Jack- son, Kay, Howard and Lupton.

Chipping YFC met in the community centre to hear a talk by Julie Bennett on her trip to South Africa. By means of colourful slides she took her audience on safari. This was followed by a quiz where members had to recognise different wild animals by the sounds on a tape recording. All the members failed to guess correctly so decided to stick to British animals in future. Thanks were expressed to Julie by John Stott and Mark Robinson. Next week's meeting will
be a fun night in the com munity centre at 7-45 p.m.
