RIMINGTON maintained their challenge for league honours by securing three valuable points from this East Lancashire League First Division fixture. Not having played for two con secutive weeks Rimington started the game with no pattern to their
performance. This, combined with bad distri
bution and a very nervous looking defence, meant things did not look good for the visitors. Despite being pinned back in
their own half in the opening 15 minutes Rimington almost went ahead after 12 minutes when Geoff
Young’s volleyed shot went nar

23rd minute when Andy King needlessly gave away possession
from a throw-in and with the visi
tors' defence all over the place and out of position it was a simple task for a home player to put his team
in front. Rimington hit back within five
minutes when Young scored a superb headed goal from Brad shaw’s well-taken free kick. The remainder of the first half
was a non-event for most of the Rimington players were not per forming to their full potential. I t was a completely different

the last 10 minutes. The home side tore into their visitors
