Mr Creelman told how, in 1990, he was working as a police man in Clitheroe when one Sunday his wife came home from church and asked if he would like to take part in a relief trip to Romania. The outcome was that they joined a group from St Anne's Church, Fence, for a five day visit. The group was later named Pendle for Romania and Mr Creelman was chosen as leader. He has made 47 trips to Romania taking relief supplies and people with vari ous skills to refurbish an orphanage, a sanatorium, a camp school and to assist the spinal trauma unit in Bucharest, which serves the whole of Romania.
