LUDLOW DISTILLERY HOME OF LUDLOW GIN AND WHISKY

2023 is a big year for Ludlow Distillery, we caught up with them to celebrate their fifth birthday and chat about the past five busy years and the newly launched Gin school.

2023 IS A BIG YEAR FOR YOU?

Yep, it’s the fifth birthday of Ludlow Gin, and what a whirlwind it’s been. It started out as a little part time business on the side of my main career, but gin soon took over and became a career of its own. In the last few years we’ve had some major contracts, including being featured in the Craft Gin Club, and, last year, making gin, vodka and rum for nearly ten stadiums across the UK, so it’s certainly been a rollercoaster.

YOU’RE NOT JUST ABOUT GIN ARE YOU?

Gin was our first love in so many ways – it’s such a fundamental part of British culture and we still love creating beautifully crafted dry gins with natural botanicals. Our success with gin brought a few other things our way: wine and whisky.

Back in 2020, our good friend and fellow distiller Mike Hardingham asked if we were interested in taking over Ludlow Whisky - this was a dream come true. I’d always enjoyed a dram of whisky and the idea of making our own was always in the

back of my mind. It’s been an absolute joy to bring this wonderful product to a wider market. We currently release 400 bottles every six months, and these don’t stay on the shelf for long. Our first four editions have sold out and are now only available in specialist whisky auctions.
