THE BEAUTY BOX NEW SEASON TRENDS
Professional makeup artist and beauty expert Naomi Halliday takes us through the makeup trends you need to know about this spring and summer, “The spring/summer of 2023 is well on its way, with some new trends coming through and some reigning trends here to stay! Glossy, glowing skin looks are going nowhere and vampy chic is making an earlier appearance than usual for the summer. It's also looking hugely vibrant, with pops of rainbow-bright colour and uplifting glitz!”
GLITZ
Crystal accents were awash on the SS23 runways, used by Mark Fast, Vivetta & Halpern. For a simple way to really step up your makeup game, try Relove Euphoric Bedazzled Gem Pack, £3. Pre glued for ease, these gem strings can be applied on the eyes alone, or over any makeup look.
24 UNDERLINER
Eyeliner on the upper lash line has dominated our eye makeup for so long, but this season sees the return of the ultra-modern underliner. Worn either inside the waterline, or tracing the lower lashes, this look was preferred by Moschino, Tom Ford, Dior and Louis Vuitton in their shows. Get the designer look with the ultra-soft and blendable PAT McGRATH LABS X Bridgerton Legendary Wear Velvet Khol Eyeliner, £34.
UPTOWN PINK
Once again, pink is spring’s most popular standout shade. Carolina Herrera focused on a chic look for her runway shows, where models wore sophisticated velvet pink pouts against fresh skin and understated kohl liner. Carolina Herrera’s Velvet Lip Liquid, £24 in Majestic Pink delivers long-wearing, ultra- pigmented colour with a powdery, intensely matte velvet finish that lasts up to 8-12 hours.
