SHA R ING I S CA R ING FINE WINES AND FONDUE
Sharing and caring is the focus at a popular Warwick pub with the launch of their new Wine Tasting and Fondue nights.
The Hatton Arms has teamed up with Fraziers Wine Merchants in Solihull for an exclusive monthly wine tasting event which promises to take visitors on a fascinating culinary journey around the world.
It’s delivered by Frazier’s Operations Director Steve Jay who has created a Connoisseurs selection of wines to complement the food.
Steve said: “These evenings are a fantastic chance to taste wines from outside of the comfort zone along with great food. It gives people a chance to taste a different style of wine which gives them confidence to buy by the bottle in the future.”
Meanwhile, it’s all things Swiss every Wednesday at the new Hatton Arms Fondue Nights, with a choice of Fondue or Fondue and Steak menus, served between 5-9pm.
Manager Steph Ward said: “The fondue nights came about because we wanted to bring something different to the area, something to bring people together, a sharing experience, especially after the pandemic.

A HAT T R ICK OF SUCCE S S COFFEE SHOP VIES FOR VICTORY
A coffee shop in Alcester is in the running to complete a hat-trick of awards, having already been named the best in England – twice!
Louise Hanks launched The Lounge @ 26 with business partner Elizabeth French in November 2020, just as the second national lockdown began.
The High Street coffee shop has gone from strength to strength since, with its reputation for great coffee and a friendly atmosphere helping it win two prestigious national awards.
It was named Best Café in the country in England’s Business Awards 2021 and won the nation’s Best Eatery a year later, which has seen it automatically entered to compete in this year’s awards, with shortlisting this month and the winner announced later in the year.
Louise and Elizabeth, who are both from Redditch, also own The Lounge in Astwood Bank.
The Lounge is now adding to its offering by launching bottomless brunch one Sunday every month – starting March 5 – providing customers with a range of different flavoured Bellinis and a choice of delicious fluffy pancakes, tasty Belgian waffles or smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels.
Louise said:“It was really surreal to have won the awards, especially in our first year of business, we still cannot quite believe it. We’ve got a chance to complete the hat-trick and hopefully win another award this year so we are keeping our fingers crossed!”
“It’s a different kind of experience and something we haven’t done before at the pub and the chefs are enjoying the chance to be creative in this way.”
The Wine Tasting Nights take place on the last Thursday of each month and the Fondue menu is available every Wednesday night.
